How to Setup Angular for local development
Let’s understand how to setup Angular for local development, Do you know Node.js and NPM are main essential tool for Angular code development.
Angular framework has dependencies on NPM and it is used to download the Angular related dependencies like to generate Angular Component.
You can download Node.js from Node Js home site. Please note if you are installing Node.js then you don’t need to install NPM explicitly because Node.js will install NPM automatically.
Steps to Setup Angular for local development
- Download Node.js from here.
- Install Node.js in your computer or laptop.
- Go to command prompt and install Angular CLI using
npm install -g @angular/clicommand.
- Check node and npm version.
Step 1 – Download Node from Node.js site.
Step 2 – Once you downloaded NodeJs file then you can run NodeJs
.exe file to install locally.
Step 3 – Once you clicked on .exe file then you will get below prompt box to continue installation.
Step 4 – Click on
I accept the terms in the license agreement checkbox to continue installation.
Step 5 – Click on next to continue installation.
Step 6 – Click on next to continue installation.
Step 7 – Click on install button to continue installation.
Step 8 – Now it will take some time to install NodeJs.
Step 9 – Now you can check node and NPM version using below commands. To check NodeJs version you can use
node -v command and to check NPM version you can use
Step 10 – Now install Angular CLI by executing
npm innstall -g @angular/cli command.
It will take a bit long time to install all Angular related dependencies. once it got installed then you can start writing your code.
